Reach Your Target Market and Connect
The 21st century is “always on”, never sleeping in our integrated digital lifestyles. Business owners understand this more than anyone, and the foundation of the online marketing presence, the website, represents the business all day, every day to the world. It can be a simple introduction, a complete marketplace, or a resource of materials and services for clients and customers. Ultimately however, it must accurately and effectively represent the business. There must be a consistency with the business’s brand – the visitor should have no question about who’s business they are visiting and all of the values and style of that business should be clearly identifiable. What do you want your customers to say/ feel about your business? This should be present in all marketing materials, but online avenues allow for a user experience that is the closest a business will get besides a direct interaction with a business representative. Businesses will spend hours training a customer service representative, designing a window display, choosing the right paint colors for the inside of the business, all with the goal of creating the user experience for the customer/client. This same attention should be applied to the experience for a user during an online interaction. Not every U/X is the same – they can vary as much as the target market itself, but the principles of the U/X focus within the business brand should always apply.
